Adenoidectomy: Surgical removal of the adenoids.
Adenoiditis: Inflammation of the adenoids.
Asthma: Chronic disease characterized by periodic attacks of dyspnea, wheezing, and coughing.
Bronchitis: Inflammation of the bronchi.
Bronchogram: X-ray of the bronchi and lung (with the use of contrast medium).
Bronchoscope: Instrument used to visually examine the bronchi.
Bronchoscopy: Visual examination of the bronchi.
Chronic Obsrtuctive Pulmonary Disease: Chronic obstruction of the airway that results from emphysema, asthma, or chronic bronchitis.
Emphysema: Degeneative disease characterized by destructive changes in the walls of the alveoli, resulting of loss of elasticity to the lungs.
Laryngectomy: Excision of the larynx.
Laryngitis: Inflammation of the larynx.
Laryngoscope: Instrument used for visual examination of the larynx.
Lobectomy: Excision of a lobe (of a lung-- also may refer to the brain of liver.
Pharyngitis: Inflammation of the pharynx.
Pleuritis: Inflammation of the pleura.
Pleuropexy: Surgical fixation of the pleura.
Pneumonectomy: Excision of the lung (may be total or partial removal of a lung).
Pneumonia: Abnormal condition of the lung.
Pneumothorax: Air in the pleura cavity causes the lung to collapse.
Pneumonitis: Inflammation or infection of the lung.
Rhinopharyngitis: Inflammation of the nose and throat.
Rhinoplasty: Surgical repair of the nose.
Rhinorrhagia: Bleeding from the nose, also called epistaxis.
Thoracotomy: Incision into the chest cavity.
Tonsillectomy: Surgical removal of the tonsils.
Tonsillitis: Inflammation of the tonsils.
Tracheostomy: Artificial opening into the trachea.
