Tort: A civil wrong committed against a person or property
Negligence: Unintended tort
Malpractice: Affects licensed staff like doctors, nurses, therapists and pharmacists.
Defamation: Make and untrue statement to hurt another person's reputation.
Assault: Threatening or attempting to touch a person w/o his consent causing him to fear bodily harm.
Battery: Touch a person without his or her consent.
Fraud: A deception that could cause harm to another;.
False imprisonment: Confining another person against his or her will.+
Invasion of Privacy: Violate right of pt. to keep personal information and aspects of himself from others.
Larceny: Stealing
Abuse: repetitive and deliberate infliction of injury to another person.
