ACLS medication
13
adenosine: must be given rapid IV push. 1st dose 6mg, 2nd & 3rd dose 12mg.
amiodorone: for unstable VT/VF; 1st dose 300mg IV, 2nd dose 150mg IV
atropine: dose is 0.5 mg every 3-5 minutes
dopamine: dose 5-10 mcg/kg/min, treatment of hypotension, 2nd line treatment for bradycardia
epinephrine: 1 mg IV every 3-5 min for pulseless rhythms; 0.1-0.5 mcg/kg/min for bradycardia or hypotension
vasopressin: 1 dose of 40 units IV, given in place of 1st or 2nd dose of epinephrine in pulseless rhythms
aspirin: dose 160-325mg given as a chewable tablet
oxygen: use if oxygen saturation is <94%, or patient is dyspneic
nitroglycerin: 1 sublingual or spray given every 3-5 minutes for chest pain if patient BP >90 mmg Hg
morphine: used for chest discomfort unrelieved by nitroglycerin if patient remains hemodynamically stable
heparin: routinely given as an adjunct to PCI and fibrinolytic therapy in patients with ACS
norepinephrine: dose is 0.1-0.5 mcg/kg/min to help achieve a minimum SBP >90 mm Hg
Normal Saline: given as a bolus of 1-2 liters when ROSC is achieved
