Real numbers : Real numbers are numbers that can be found on the number line, that includes negative and positive numbers.
Natural numbers : the positive integers (whole numbers) 1, 2, 3, etc., and sometimes zero as well.
Whole Numbers : a number without fractions; an integer.
Integers : A number with no fractional part.
Rational : a real number that can be written as a simple fraction (i.e. as a ratio). It also terminates and it can repeat.
Irrational : is any real number that cannot be expressed as a ratio of integers. never terminates or repeats.
Square Root : The square root of a number is a value that, when multiplied by itself, gives the number.
Cube Root : used in a multiplication three times, gives that number.
Monomial : an algebraic expression consisting of one term.
Exponent : a quantity representing the power to which a given number or expression is to be raised, usually expressed as a raised symbol beside the number or expression
Radical : The symbol, which is used to indicate square roots or nth roots
Radicand : The number under the radical symbol.
Terminating decimals : A decimal number that has digits that do not go on forever.
Repeating decimals : A decimal that repeats, has a Pattern.
Power of a product : When you multiply two powers with the same exponent, but different bases, things go a little differently.
Power of a quotient : to find the power of a quotient, find power of x and y and divide.
Zero exponent : Any number, except 0, that is raised to power is equal to one.
Negative Exponent : a number raised to a negative power is equal to 1 over the same base raised to the positive power.
