slope : The steepness of a line
addition : Finding the total or sum by combining two or more numbers
subtraction : Taking one number away from another
division : The process of splitting into parts of groups
multiplication : The process of repeated addition
equation : A statement that shows the value of two mathematical expressions being equal
transformation : Changing a shape using a turn, flip, slide, or resize
angle : the amount of turn between two straight lines that have a common end point
rational number : A number that can be made by dividing two integers
irrational number : A real number that cannot be made by dividing two integers
exponent : Says how many times to use that number in a multiplication
graph : A diagram of values, usually shown as lines or bars
integer : A number with no fractional part
coordinate : A set of values that show an exact position
expression : Numbers, symbols, and operators (such as + and ×) grouped together that show the value of something
verbal expression : A translation into words of an algebraic expression that can consist of different operations, numbers, and variables
square root : Value that, when multiplied by itself, gives the number
cube root : A special value that, when used in a multiplication three times, gives that number
ordered pair : A pair of numbers used to locate a point on a coordinate plane; the first number tells how far to move horizontally and the second number tells how far to move vertically
function : A special relationship where each input has a single output
