Flat: sleeping position
Fowler’s : A semi-to-upright sitting position in bed.
Low-Fowler’s : the head of the bed is elevated 15 to 30 degrees.
Semi-Fowler’s : the head of the bed is raised 30 to 45 degrees.
High Fowler’s : the head of the bed is raised 45 to 90 degrees. Clients are often not raised above a 60 degree angle.
Trendelenburg: head of bed is lowered and foot of bed is raised ; a physician order is required
Reverse Trendelenburg: head of bed raised and foot of bed is lowered; a physician order is required
